When a breast was partially removed, the volume defect that follows can be filled using the body’s own ( autologous) fat. This fat tissue can be harvested from the lower abdomen and after it is filtered and processed it can be injected into the breast. The advantage of this technique is that unwanted fat tissue deposits can be used. Furthermore, since the used graft is autologous and natural, it is host compatible. The volume of the fat graft that can be transferred in one treatment is limited, it is possible though to fill a volume of 200 up to 300 ml in more than one treatments .
